Documentation Collection

This collection consists of secondary records documenting historic structures, sites, and districts within the state of Indiana. It includes both published and unpublished materials in a variety of formats, such as books, pamphlets, reports, newspaper clippings, photographs, photo-data books, field notes, and survey and inventory forms. Much of the material was generated by Ball State undergraduate architecture students enrolled in a required documentation course (originally a series of four one-credit courses). Other items were collected and deposited by David R. Hermansen, Andrew R. Seager, Archive staff members, and others.

Vertical-file materials in this collection are arranged by location if they document properties within a given county, or alphabetically by subject heading if the subject spans more than one county. Other types of material are arranged by catalog number.
