Biographical Note
Timothy “Tim” Liddy was born in Shelbyville, Indiana on February 28, 1953. After graduating from Yorktown High School, he attended Ball State University’s College of Architecture and Planning, from which he would obtain bachelor's degrees in both landscape architecture and environmental design in 1981.
Liddy has been involved in golf ever since his youth, which he spent practicing his short game in the backyard and, when he was in high school, working at a golf course. After graduating from Ball State, Liddy worked on a large-scale project with Pete Dye, a world-famous golf course architect with whom Liddy has continued to work ever since. In 1993, Liddy started his own business, Timothy Liddy/Associates, Inc., in Yorktown, Indiana. The firm has worked on several esteemed golf courses throughout the United States and abroad, such as Crooked Stick in Caramel, Indiana; Ford Plantation in Richmond Hill, Georgia; and Bloomfield (Wintonbury Hills) in Bloomfield, Connecticut.
Membership chairman of the American Society of Golf Course Architects, Liddy is one of the few American architects to have worked in Scotland, where the sport of golf originated. Liddy is especially known for his exceptional attention to his clients' needs and his vigilant presence throughout the entire design and construction process.
