Administrative History
Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia is a national music fraternity founded in 1898 at the New England Conservatory of Music. The goal of the fraternity is "the development of the best and truest fraternal spirit, the mutual welfare and brotherhood of musical students, the advancement of music in America and a loyalty to the Alma Mater." The organization became a national fraternity in 1900. It is now the largest music fraternity in the world, with chapters at over 200 campuses. The Delta Lambda chapter was founded at Ball State University in 1948.
