Administrative History

The Muncie Normal Institute, renamed the Muncie National Institute in 1913, was a combination of the Marion Normal College and Business University, the National Mutual Training Company, the Muncie Conservatory of Music, the Eastern Indiana Normal Institute, and the Muncie Normal Institute. Opened on September 17, 1912 and closed January 17, 1917 due to forclosure, the Muncie National Institute was the institution of higher learning in Muncie, Indiana for five years, after which it was replaced by the Indiana State Normal School, Eastern Division.

Arbor Vitae is the yearbook of the Muncie National Institute.
