Biographical Note

Wes D. Gehring has been a professor of Film and Television Studies at Ball State University since 1978 where he has played a leading role in shaping the direction of his subject area's curriculum within the Department of Telecommunications. He has written numerous books during his time at Ball State and has focused his studies on the genre of comedy. Gehring has also served as a contributor to numerous magazines and newspapers including USA Today and Indianapolis Monthly. Several of his books have been biographies of famous comedic actors Charlie Chaplin and Red Skelton.
