Biographical Note

Dr. E. Bruce Geelhoed is Chair of the Department and Professor of History. He was also the director for The Center for Middletown Studies from 1991 to 2003. He is the author of Charles E. Wilson and Controversy at the Pentagon, 1953 to 1957 (Wayne State University Press, 1979); and the co-author with Millicent Anne Gates of The Dragon and the Snake: An American Account of the Turmoil in China, 1976-1977 (University of Pennsylvania Press, 1986). He is also the co-author with Anthony O. Edmonds of two studies, Ball State University: An Interpretive History (Indiana University Press, 2001) and Eisenhower, Macmillan, and Allied Unity, 1957-1961 (Palgrave Macmillan, 2003). In addition, he and Dr. Edmonds are the co-editors of The Macmillan-Eisenhower Correspondence, 1957-1969 (Palgrave Macmillan, 2005.).

Biographical Note

Anthony Edmonds has been the George and Frances Ball Distinguished Professor of History since 2004. Edmonds co-authored a history of Ball State Basketball (Chicago: Arcadia Press 2004). He is the author of a biography of a prizefighter Joe Louis, and The War in Vietnam, as well as Ball State University: An Interpretive History and Eisenhower, Macmillan and Allied Unity, 1957-61, both co-authored with colleague Bruce Geelhoed. He and Dr. Geelhoed are the co-editors of The Macmillan-Eisenhower Correspondence, 1957-1969 (Palgrave Macmillan.). Edmonds received the 2004 Victor Lawhead Award for Outstanding Contributions to the Core Curriculum. He has won several outstanding teaching awards and was named Outstanding Faculty Advisor in 1996.
