Biographical Note / Historical Note / Administrative History
Margaret Ellen Lacey earned a B.S. in home economics from Purdue University in 1955 and her M.A. in home economics from Ball State Teachers College in 1959. Beginning in 1959, she joined the Ball State faculty as Instructor of Home Economics and was later promoted to the rank of Assistant Professor. She remained at Ball State until her retirement in 1995.
During her career, Lacey served as the director of the home management houses for thirty years. During her career, she was actively involved with both the American and Indiana Home Economics Associations, and received the Honor Award from the Indiana Home Economics Association in 1977.
