This collection includes issues of the Ball State Alumnus, a publication of the Ball State University Alumni Association in Muncie, Indiana, chronologically from 1937 to 2009. The Alumnus magazine provides Ball State alumni information regarding student and alumni events, outreach, campus growth, research, faculty news, and more.

Legal title, copyright, and literary rights reside with Ball State University, Muncie, IN. All requests to publish or quote from manuscripts must be submitted to Archives and Special Collections.
Publications sent to alumni began with a quarterly Ball State Alumnus magazine in 1937 that went out to dues-paying members only. This circulation continued until 1956 when Ball State Teachers College president, John R. Emens, supported an increased budget to enable a more frequent distribution of the magazine ,and directed copies to all Ball State University alumni. Current circulation of the Ball State Alumnus, produced six times annually, is more than 105,000.
