Biographical Note / Historical Note / Administrative History
Born in New Castle, Mr. Curry served as an Air Force Captain during World War II. He received his Bachelors and Masters degrees from Ball State University in music and math. He taught instrumental music at Kendallville and Coldwater High Schools until 1959, and was a member of the Fort Wayne Philharmonic until 1954. He entered Indiana University School of Optometry, in 1959 and practiced optometry in Fort Wayne from 1963 to 1990, during which time he was elected Indiana Optometric Association Optometrist of the Year, in 1978. In February of 2005, he was inducted into the Coldwater High School Music Hall of Fame. Other organizations included Downtown Kiwanis Club of Fort Wayne, China Burma India Veterans Association, Rotary Club of Coldwater, Mich., life member of American Optometric Association and member of First Presbyterian Church.
