Biographical Note / Historical Note / Administrative History

The Department of Secondary and Higher Education offered courses to Teachers College students focused specifically on training students in the teaching of secondary and middle/junior high school curriculum. The program worked collaboratively with many other departments to provide a great deal of inter-disciplinary study to provide specialized content and subject matter fields. Offerings in educational technology, media, library services, and multicultural education were offered by the department. In 2004 the department was discontinued and its courses were integrated into the more general Educational Studies department that exists today.
