Administrative History

The College of Communication, Information, and Media was founded in 1996 and consists of four departments from departments that previously existed within the College of Sciences and the Humanities: The Center for Information and Communications Sciences, the Department of Communication Studies, the Department of Journalism, and the Department of Telecommunications. The college is amongst the top 15 largest communications programs in the country. It's programs feature a strong focus on technology, professional collaborations, and interdisciplinary study.
