Tract books
Scope and Contents
This collection includes records of land sales in Boone, Clinton, Delaware, Hamilton, Madison, and Randolph Counties from 1811-1876. These records document the amount of acreage purchased, who purchased the land, the former residence of the purchaser, and the date the land was sold. The collection also includes records of land sales for each township in Delaware County, blank land grid forms, and an unknown land grid and tract book.

Historical Note
Tract books are arranged by the legal description of the land: by township, range, and section. The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) retains original land records and patents for the state of Indiana.
