Historical Note
Interurban railroads played a significant part in the development of the United States. Indiana was the stronghold of the interurban railway and was prominent in the street railway field as well. This collection features information on lines along the Ohio River as well as two large interurban systems: Terre Haute Indianapolis and Eastern and Union Traction Company of Indiana. Both were fused with the Interstate Public Service and other lines make up the Indiana Railroad System.
