The content of this collection consists of the writings of Ralph B. Ross from the late 1920s through the early 1940s. They are letters to his mother Bessie L. Ross, undated journal entries, journal entries about specific topics and trips, and other titled essays.

Biographical Note
Ralph B. Ross was born in Muncie on December 10, 1905 to Ralph W. Ross and Bessie L. Blease Ross. A long-time Muncie resident, Ross was a civil engineer in Muncie at the Heuer Brothers Company and in 1970 for the Muncie Sanitary District. He was married to Annis Ross on May 15, 1934 in Corydon, Harrison County, Indiana. Annis eventually became the Deputy County Treasurer in 1980. They lived at 205 Meeks Avenue in Muncie. Ross passed away on June 30, 1972 at the age of 66 and is buried in Beech Grove Cemetery.
