Scope and Contents
This collection consists of records from and about the Industrial Trust and Savings Bank in Muncie, Indiana and includes annual reports, the Industrial Trust Grapevine and Summcorp Grapevine employee newsletters, a brochure, four scrapbooks of newspaper clippings and photographs, digital scans of photographs, and film ranging from 1949 to 1992 documenting the companies activities including branch openings, marketing, and company picnics.

Organizational History
The Industrial Trust and Savings Bank was started as an industrial loan firm in 1927 under the name Muncie Industrial Company. In 1948 the Muncie Industrial Company was granted a state bank charter by the Indiana Department of Financial Institutions. The bank became known as Industrial Trust and Savings in 1949 Industrial Trust and Savings. In 1953 Industrial Trust was the first bank in Indiana to put into operation a charge account service department. The first branch bank opened in Northwest Plaza Shopping Center in 1957. Two years later the bank acquired Yorktown State Bank and Albany State Bank through mergers. Industrial Trust and Savings Bank was acquired by Summcorp, a multi-bank holding company based in Fort Wayne, Indiana in 1986.

Custodial History
The Industrial Trust and Savings Bank Records were received by Archives and Special Collections as a donation from Industrial Trust and Savings Bank Records in 1983 and 1984. Additional materials were donated in 2001. Jeff Koenker donated the Industrial Trust Grapevine, Summcorp Grapevine newsletters, and photographs on 2008/09/15. Jeff Koenker donated scrapbooks of newspaper advertisements on 2009/03/11 and scrapbooks of construction photographs and newspaper clippings on 2014/1/27. Jeff Koenker donated the Industrial Trust and Savings Bank picnic film on 2014/09/16.
