Administrative History

The Adult Education Association of Indiana was founded in 1940 in order to foster and promote adult education. Members of the association included volunteers, professional educators, and anyone interested in the field of adult education. The association, original called the Indiana State Association for Adult Education, adopted the name Adult Education Association in 1960, which continued until 1983.

The most recent form of the organization, the Indiana Association for Adult and Continuing Education was founded in 1983, and continues to be active in the field of promoting and assisting Adult and Continuing studies in Indiana. The organization has published numerous newsletters, which provide information and advice to individuals at all levels of continuing education.
