Biographical Note
Dr. Barbara A. Heavilin received her PhD from Ball State University and is co-founder and co-editor of the Steinbeck Review, general editor of the Steinbeck Yearbook, and Associate Professor of English at Taylor University. She has published numerous articles and books on Nobel Prize-winning author John Steinbeck, including "The Critical Response to John Steinbeck’s The Grapes of Wrath" and "John Steinbeck’s The Grapes of Wrath: A Reference Guide." In 2009, her book "A John Steinbeck Reader: Essays in Honor of Stephen A. George," was published by Scarecrow Press. Dr. Heavilin has served as a speaker at the Steinbeck Lecture series and is also the author of "The Quaker Presence in America: Let Us Then Try What Love Will Do."
