This collection includes correspondence, agendas, event programs, advance operation manuals, directories, blueprints, memoranda, and photographs created and/or collected by Daniel Denning of Washington D.C. ranging from 1952 to 2012 regarding the Desert Storm Victory Celebration and the Presidential administrations of Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush.

Biographical Note
Daniel Denning comes from a family with a tradition of military service. Denning's father, Pvt. Daniel Burke, fought in the Battle of the Bulge with the 84th Infantry Division of the U.S. Army. Daniel Denning graduated from Indiana University in 1967 with a BA in Government and received a Master of Public Administration (MPA) in 1974 from American University. During his military career, Denning served as the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Legislative Affairs (1985-1986), Director of Department of Energy Defense Programs Congressional Affairs (1986-1988), and Assistant Secretary of the Army for Manpower and Reserve Affairs (2002-2007). In 1991, Denning served as the Executive Director of the Desert Storm Homecoming Foundation, a short-term organization dedicated to providing the 1991 Homecoming Celebration in Washington, D.C. for Soldiers returning from Desert Storm. Denning's position within Manpower and Reserve Affairs was responsible for overseeing Army functions relating to manpower, human resources, recruiting and retention, health affairs, training, readiness, and mobilization. In this position, Denning frequently helped plan and coordinate public events, such as inaugural parades, political conventions, and Presidential and Vice Presidential travels across the United States. Since 2009, Denning has served as a consultant for several defense contractors including Booz Allen Hamilton, MBO Partners, LLC, and Northport Affiliates, LLC.
