After separating from the Indiana and Michigan district, the Indiana District United Pentecostal Church International became its own entity in 1962. N.J. Bibbs of Anderson, Indiana served as the first District Superintendent. Beginning in 1966, the District has operated its camp, the Indiana Conference and Training Center, in Fortville, Indiana; the camp provides space for worship, meetings, education, and other programming.
The Indiana District United Pentecostal Church International oversees over 150 churches throughout the state. The Indiana District is one of over 50 such districts of the United Pentecostal Church International (UPCI) in the United States and Canada. The UPCI is a Pentecostal Christian denomination that was formed in 1945 by the merger of the Pentecostal Church, Incorporated and the Pentecostal Assemblies of Jesus Christ and is headquartered in Hazelwood, Missouri.
