Veterans

This collection includes correspondence, directories, financial records, governing documents, handbooks, manuals, minutes, membership records, newsletters, newspaper clippings, photographs, programs, reports, scrapbooks and other material created and collected by the American Legion Delaware Post 19 in Muncie, Indiana ranging from 1919 to 1978 regarding the activities, administration, history, initiatives, and meetings of the local, state, and national branches of the American Legion.

This collection includes bounty applications and audit certificates, regiment muster certificates, recruit lists, service records, financial records, veterans' enrollment forms, and other materials from Delaware County, Indiana ranging from 1861 to 1906 regarding the history of the Civil War in Delaware County, and, more specifically, the administration of bounties, enlistment of men, and enrollment of veterans during and after the war.

This collection includes AMVETS State Convention notes (1949, 1950, 1969), Delaware-Muncie Metropolitan Plan Commission annual reports (1968-1971), and Temple Beth-El Confirmation programs (1932, 1956, 1965). It also contains a Muncie Reds official scorebook (1950) and other miscellaneous documents. PSC.138 includes photographs of Temple-Beth El and Lou Costello. F.010 includes a 16mm film of the B’nai B’rith Fraternity New Year's Eve Party.

This collection includes correspondence, meeting minutes, and other documents from United Veterans of Indiana Post 1 ranging from 1933 to 1998.

This collection contains the audio recordings and edited transcripts of oral history interviews with World War I veterans conducted by William J. Nye, James Andrews, P. Douglas Magers, and Jerry Handfield between 1978 and 1982. Also included are interview video recording about the Blizzard of 1978 in Delaware County, records documenting the deaths of World War I veterans and casualties of the Vietnam War, and Nye's research notes.

This collection consists of government publications published during WWII by the United States Office of Civil Defense.
